Hillary Van Ness is a published author, actor, and producer and casting director with a passion for authentic storytelling and accessibility in film and television. She is the author of the novel Empath: Uncovered, which inspired the TV pilot, Empath Uncovered. As producer and casting director, she helped bring the project to life while integrating Deaf representation and communication accessibility throughout the production process. Through her creative work, she is passionate about fostering inclusive opportunities for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing artists while collaborating with the communities that make authentic storytelling possible. 

She is passionate about making film and television more accessible for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals through collaboration, authentic representation, and meaningful communication. Producing Empath gave her valuable first and experience navigating accessibility on set and reinforced the importance of working alongside Deaf collaborates to help create more inclusive productions.
